2024 enrollment is now CLOSED
Trainings completed on or after December 1st will be pre-qualified to receive one of the $500 training bonuses available if you are still employed in any licensed early learning program in the City of Atlanta when 2025 enrollment starts in early August (2025).

Become an Early Childhood Champion and get rewarded
By training in proven scientific methods of reading instruction right here on Cox Campus – using state-approved online courses that also count towards your Bright from the Start training hours – you not only give your students the gift of literacy that can last a lifetime, you can earn tangible rewards for yourself right now.
How it works
Be one of the first 300 eligible teachers to complete the required coursework below and you’ll earn the City of Atlanta’s “Mayor’s Award for Early Literacy” and a $500 bonus.
Who is eligible

- Work at least 30 hours/week in an eligible center
- Work in classrooms with children ages 0-5 (not yet in Kindergarten)
- Work as a classroom lead teacher, assistant teacher, or paraprofessional
- Complete the required, free, 8-11 hours of online professional learning provided by Cox Campus Rollins Center for Language & Literacy

- Step 1: Enroll here as an Early Childhood Champion if you have not already. Enrollment open August 1 - September 30, 2024. Enrollment will reopen August 1, 2025
- Step 2: Care Solutions (the Early Childhood Champions program administrator and payment partner) will confirm your eligibility for one or both incentives.
- Step 3: Complete required courses on Cox Campus in the science of reading, keep teaching for 12 months after you enroll, or both! You must have a completed and accepted application from Care Solutions.
(Once you complete your coursework, you have completed all requirements on Cox Campus.) - Step 4: Receive a $500 check for staying in the classroom and/or completing the online training (teachers in birth 3 classrooms eligible for both bonuses).

Please allow 10 to 14 business days for Cox Campus to receive your information and set up your account for the Early Childhood Champions program. You will receive an email from us letting you know when you can begin coursework. If you have not received your email, check, or have other questions, Care Solutions will be happy to assist you. Cox Campus does not issue checks.
