K5 Leaders: Implementing Structured Literacy Practices
This comprehensive professional learning journey, including asynchronous coursework on Cox Campus, will be focused on the practical application of structured literacy. This three-part leadership series leverages your current knowledge and expertise in the science of reading to engage with peers and the Rollins Center for Language & Literacy coaches around the implementation of structured literacy at the district and school levels.
In this virtual PLC, leaders will:
- Reflect on changes in practice as a result of structured literacy implementation at their school or district
- Crowd-source solutions to common problems of practice in implementing structured literacy
- Deepen expertise around the knowledge, skills, and agency your instructional team will need to effectively implement structured literacy that impacts student outcomes
What to Expect:
The series will cover Oral Language, Early Literacy, Explicit & Systematic Instruction, and Fluency. It is required that leaders have completed Cox Campus coursework on these topics (or have completed similar professional development) prior to joining. This PLC is for district and school leaders with working knowledge of the science of reading and are currently implementing structured literacy practices in their school/district.
